Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Computer Skills Trainer to deliver specialized training focused on computer applications used in the hospitality industry. The trainer will equip participants with practical digital and software skills commonly required in hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and other hospitality settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training Delivery:
• Conduct interactive training sessions tailored to hospitality industry needs.
• Teach basic to intermediate computer skills relevant to hotel and tourism operations.
• Provide hands-on practice and monitor participant progress.
• Adapt teaching methods based on participant learning levels.
2. Computer Skills to Be Taught:
Basic Digital Literacy:
• Introduction to computers, operating systems (Windows)
• File management and navigation
• Basic typing and keyboard shortcuts
• Internet browsing, online research, and email handling (Gmail/Outlook)
Microsoft Office Suite (Hospitality Application Focus):
• Microsoft Word
o Creating guest letters, reservation confirmations, menus
o Formatting and printing official documents
• Microsoft Excel
o Guest check-in/check-out logs
o Room occupancy tracking
o Inventory sheets for housekeeping, food & beverage
o Simple formulas and data management
• Microsoft PowerPoint
o Presentation skills for hotel orientation, event proposals, or service briefings
• Microsoft Outlook
o Managing emails, calendars, and bookings
Hospitality-Specific Software Introduction (as applicable):
• Overview of Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, Cloudbeds, or Hotelogix (if feasible – theory or demo-based)
• Introduction to Point of Sale (POS) systems for restaurants/cafes
• Use of online booking platforms (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb basics)
• Basic knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools
Soft Skills & Digital Etiquette:
• Professional email writing
• Online communication tools (Zoom, Google Meet)
• Customer service communication via digital platforms
• Cybersecurity basics and data privacy awareness in hospitality
3. Class Management & Reporting:
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans and training materials
• Conduct pre- and post-training assessments
• Maintain participant attendance and individual progress tracking
• Submit weekly and final reports to the Project Coordinator
Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in IT training, preferably with a focus on hospitality or customer service sectors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools used in hospitality environments
• Experience using or demonstrating PMS or POS systems is an asset
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to teach in [insert relevant languages – e.g., Dari, Pashto, Urdu, or English]
• Experience working with refugee or vulnerable communities is highly desirable
• Patience, adaptability, and a culturally sensitive approach
