Job Description:

The Youth Engagement Officer will be responsible for community-based mobilization and youth engagement activities under the Adolescent and Youth Friendly Space (AYFS) project. The position will ensure meaningful, inclusive, and sustained participation of adolescents and youth across assigned project districts in line with approved project objectives and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

Youth Mobilization & Engagement:

  • Mobilize adolescents and youth through structured outreach and engagement activities.
  • Facilitate youth participation in awareness sessions, dialogue forums, and project-led initiatives.
  • Support inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable youth in project activities.

Community Coordination:

  • Liaise with community leaders, youth groups, educational institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support formation and strengthening of youth groups and youth-led initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with AYFS staff and project teams to ensure alignment between community and centre-based activities.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach and engagement activities.
  • Prepare and submit periodic activity reports and supporting documentation to the Project Coordinator.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project trainings, coordination meetings, and review sessions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator in support of project objectives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Education, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community mobilization or youth engagement programs
  • Strong field coordination and community engagement skills.
  • Ability to engage adolescents and youth effectively in diverse community settings.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to plan and implement field activities independently.
  • Excellent communication, liaison, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
