Incumbent position will play a pivotal role in Nutrition International’s Large-Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) program in Pakistan, which targets reduction of widespread micronutrient deficiencies by fortifying staple foods such as wheat flour, edible oil, and salt. According to the National Nutrition Survey (NNS) 2018, over 40% of children under five in Pakistan are stunted, 17% are wasted, and deficient of essential micronutrients (such as vitamin A, iron, iodine etc.)
The incumbent will be responsible for the timely revision/development, updating and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) plans and results trackers to ensure high-quality program monitoring and reporting. S/he will design and develop data collection tools using digital applications and management information systems (including FortIS) to analyze, harmonize, collate, and visualize data through dashboards for internal and external reports targeting donors, ministries, and other stakeholders.
The role will also support monitoring of industry compliance with national fortification standards (such as premix usage, quality assurance (QA) / quality control (QC) results, and sampling compliance) through digital platforms like FortIS, while ensuring alignment with provincial food authorities' reporting protocols and regulatory oversight. Work closely with the FortIS management firm to ensure smooth functioning of FortIS, its maintenance, and day-to-day updates. This will include coordination for the system’s integration with government monitoring systems or partner platforms such as BioAnalyt’s iCheck Connect. The MDL Officer will also provide programmatic inputs, support basic troubleshooting follow-up, and coordinate on user-level feedback. In addition, this position will present data-driven insights on program implementation to clearly demonstrate the progress and impacts of fortification programs to the Senior National Program Manager – LSFF and the management for informed decision-making. |
