Job Summary:

The Driver will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for the MCHC project team, patients, and medical supplies in Lower Kohistan. He will ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, maintain accurate logbooks, and strictly follow traffic rules and organizational policies. The Driver will also support the referral of patients through ambulance services to higher-level facilities when required and assist the project team during medical camps and outreach activities. This position requires responsibility, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work in remote and challenging field environments.

Responsibilities: The Driver will be responsible for:

  1. Driving project staff, patients, and materials safely to MCHC, outreach, and camp locations.
  2. Providing safe ambulance driving services, including referral and emergency transportation of patients to higher-level health facilities.
  3. Ensuring the safety of passengers (patients and staff) with strict adherence to traffic rules and organizational policies.
  4. Maintaining the assigned vehicle in good working condition, including regular cleaning, refueling, and timely servicing.
  5. Keeping accurate vehicle records such as mileage logs, fuel consumption, repair, and maintenance details.
  6. Ensuring proper loading/unloading of medicines, medical equipment, and supplies.
  7. Assisting in delivery of official documents, parcels, and project materials as required.
  8. Reporting any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Project Manager.
  9. Assisting project staff in field logistics during medical camps and outreach activities.
  10. Following strict confidentiality and ethical guidelines while working with health staff and community members.
  11. Performing any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • Minimum HSSC
  • Valid LTV/HTV driving license.

Experience :

  • Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience with a reputable organization (NGO/INGO/Health Project preferred).
  • Experience in ambulance driving and safe referral/transportation of patients is required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of local routes, terrain, and road safety rules in the Kohistan region.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with local culture and language will be preferred.
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging environments with cultural sensitivity.
