Know our Team / Project

Nutrition International is embarking on a new three-year project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to support Government of Pakistan’s plans for the transition and scale up of Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) at national level.  This project blends Nutrition International's operational and technical expertise across the country, regional and headquarters. It builds on years of maternal nutrition programming both in Pakistan and across the globe while incorporating the skills sets of a diverse and dynamic group of technical experts.

About you

You are a Postgraduate in - public health / nutrition / health systems management/ international development and/or a related field including medical degree.

You must have Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies and programs to address nutrition in Pakistan.

You should have an ability to effectively communicate, network and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, especially national and district governments to achieve program objectives

Around 7 years experience in working with or within public health systems.

Fluency in English & Urdu is essential. And Knowledge of any regional languages like Pashtu, Sindhi, Baluchi, etc. is an advantage.

About the role

Senior Project Officer will support the high- level advocacy, coordination, partnership building, information management and MMS related learning and capacity strengthening to facilitate the effective scale- up of MMS programming within Pakistan. This position will also support the implementation of project activities in the five districts under the guidance of the National Program Manager. This position will also support the National Project Manager MMS in the implementation of project activities in the five districts and will be responsible for the advocacy, planning and implementation of strategic activities at the National and Provincial levels.

Under the guidance and supervision of National Project Manager (Nutrition International) the specific tasks of the SPO will include:

  • Review the MMS scale up related annual implementation plans of the Government in consultation with National/provincial level government counterparts
  • Work with the Ministry to translate the developed national project plan into provincial plans that will facilitate planning of project activities across the four project enablers and support provincial cross-learning and buy-in.
  • Provide programmatic support to the National Project Manager for strategic program activities. This includes development & finalization of concept notes, plans, strategic documents, program reviews, reports TORs, MOUs, RFP and review of proposals.
  • In close coordination with National Project Manager, document the learnings from MMS implementation process to inform MMS Scale up recommendations and policy guidelines in Pakistan.
  • Support the timely approvals and execution of planned activities under MMS SMART Scaleup from the MoNHSR&C and Provincial Health Departments
  • Support the design and review of plans for strategic deliberations under MMS Scale up including National & Provincial Consultations for developing National/Provincial Roadmaps, Costed Roadmaps, capacity building strategy and dissemination of implementation research etc.
