JOB PURPOSE:

The Accommodation Operations and Services Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs tailored to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff within the accommodation department. This role focuses on fostering a culture of excellence in guest services, operational efficiency, and team development, ensuring that all staff are equipped with the necessary competencies to deliver outstanding accommodation experiences.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Training Program Development: Design, develop, and implement training programs that cover all aspects of accommodation operations, including housekeeping standards, guest relations, safety protocols, and service excellence.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and tailor training sessions to meet the specific requirements of various roles within the accommodation department.
  • Delivery of Training Sessions: Utilize a variety of instructional techniques (e.g., workshops, e-learning, hands-on demonstrations) to effectively deliver training content that engages adult learners.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess trainee performance through pre- and post-training evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship and Support: Offer ongoing mentorship to trainees, guiding them in their professional development and encouraging a positive learning environment.
  • Quality Assurance Monitoring: Collaborate with management to monitor adherence to accommodation standards; provide insights on areas for improvement based on training outcomes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training sessions conducted, participant progress, and evaluation results; prepare reports for management review.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all training materials align with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices; promote compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in hospitality training; incorporate new methodologies into training programs as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Professional education in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in accommodation operations or hospitality management; prior experience in training or instructional design is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; exceptional presentation abilities; proficiency in using technology for training delivery (e.g., LMS platforms).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate and inspire adult learners; strong relationship-building skills to foster collaboration among staff.
