Job Summary:
The Cook is responsible for delivering safe, fresh, and hygienic food to the office employees and guests. You will be responsible to facilitate meetings/workshops’ participants by delivering quality food and services and support to office maintenance in daily task when required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Food Purchasing & Inventory Management:
- Procure ingredients and food items required for staff meals, ensuring quality, freshness, and cost-efficiency.
- Maintain an organized inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for daily operations.
- Report to the Administration team for timely replenishment of kitchen supplies as needed.
Food Preparation & Service:
- Prepare and cook high-quality, hygienic, and nutritious meals for staff and visitors, catering to a variety of dietary preferences and requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
- Serve meals, tea, and coffee to staff and visitors as required, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Kitchen Hygiene & Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen at all times, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly to prevent cross-contamination.
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and ensure that trash is taken out regularly.
- Organize the laundering of kitchen linen (e.g., aprons, towels) as needed.
Food Presentation & Quality Control:
- Ensure that all food preparation and presentation meet the company’s standards for taste, quality, and visual appeal.
- Pay attention to portion control, food styling, and packaging (if applicable), ensuring food is presented neatly and attractively.
Safety & Maintenance:
- Adhere to all company safety protocols, health regulations, and food safety standards.
- Report any maintenance issues with kitchen equipment or safety hazards to management for prompt resolution.
- Ensure that all cooking utensils and equipment are properly cleaned before each use to maintain high standards of hygiene.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Assist with any other duties related to food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations as directed by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: (copies of documentation should be supplied for all professional certifications, etc)
- Education: Middle preferably matriculation
- 3- years’ Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role (restaurant, corporate, or hospitality experience preferred). Experience with an INGO is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of healthy, tasty, and well-balanced meals.
